The technology is mind-boggling!

This is a photograph of 2009 Obama Inauguration. You can see IN FOCUS the face of EACH individual in the crowd!!!

You can scan and zoom to any section of the crowd. . . Wait a few seconds. . . And the focus adjusts to give you a very identifiable close up.

The picture was taken with a robotic 1474 megapixel camera (295 times the standard 5 megapixel camera).

Every one attending and within rifle range of Obama could be scanned after the event, should something have gone wrong during it.

Holy crap, that is rather impressive. Makes you wonder what kind of cameras will be around in 20 years time.

You can even read a small exit sign right at the very back of the crowd right in the distance next to the statue. When fully zoomed out even the statue becomes hard to make out.

Nice link!

/me puts on party pooper hat.

It was taken with a standard Canon G10 which is 15 Megapixels.

It's 220 photos stitched together.

more of an amazing puzzle :D

awesome though.

yeah. http://www.gigapansystems.com/mm5/m...e_Code=GS&Product_Code=I-E1&Category_Code=GPI

read the system info on it. "he GigaPan EPIC is a unique robotic camera mount that empowers most small digital cameras with the ability to capture gigapixel images. It is easy to use and remarkably efficient. Simply set the corners of the panorama you want to capture using the LCD interface. The built in software works out how many photos your camera will need to take, hundreds or even thousands. Then the Epic begins snapping the photos, automatically organizing them in overlapping rows and columns."

I didnt get teh info, my mate did. all he had to say was "its ok but its only the nearest digital imaging has got to 35mm film"

sorry to bust the party open :(

hah i discovered early the images are put together, zoom max the close camera in the very left side and you'll see it's not a perfect combination of images.
