For any series addicts out there looking for the next show to watch. Post up shows you have recently seen, what you think of them and share your thoughts.

Banshee : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2017109/?ref_=sr_1

I have recently finished watching Banshee, and was really quite impressed. It is aired on cinemax (skin-e-max) from the creaters that bought us True Blood. Without telling too much or spoiling it for anyone it's about an ex-con who has just got out of prison after 15 years and takes the identity of a murdered sheriff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aYDopySWJQ - Here is the trailer which does a better job than me showing what the show has to offer.

I watched the 10, 50min episodes one after the other and was on the edge of my seat throughout. It has a good combination of action/drama/humour and some good plot twists. What could be seen as a negative about the show is that is does get a little far-fetched at times and it is a little unrealistic but that doesn't matter because the show doesn't take itself too seriously and just has fun with it. The acting is decent and the script is also well written.

The show also has a lot of explicit nudity so if you're a fan of gratuitous sex and violence, this is worth checking out. I'd give it a solid 9/10 due to it being highly entertaining.

Now i just have to patiently wait for the 2nd season due out in 2014. :p

Edit: Here is a torrent link i found if you're interested: http://proxykat.net/banshee-season-1-hdtv-t7561655.html

Although i would look for the 720p episodes for better quality.

Plebs - 2013, only 6 episodes out, but I'm guessing that's a whole (pilot) season.
It's not amazingly good, but it's funny. It's basically about young adults' life in ancient Rome and their struggles to get laid. It's full of modern world references and hilarious (intentional) factual inaccuracies.
I suppose it's on that IPlayer thing the brits have, so give it a go

If you don't or haven't watched Breaking Bad you've failed at life.

There are a lot of great TV shows you haven't watched. This is at the top of that list.

I've been pretty hooked on The Returned on Channel 4. It's a French crime zombie drama thing.

Basically a bunch of people who have died in this small town over the years come back from the dead and try and return to their lives.

I can't really compare it to anything else, because it isn't like anything else I've seen.

Another new program out is called 'The Blacklist'.

The outline of this is a big assed criminal gives himself up to the FBI. He has a list, called the Blacklist of some of the most dangerous criminals and helps the FBI to catch them in return for immunity.

It sounds boring but it generally is really good. There are only 3 episodes out at the moment, so it's really new.

If you like politics, you should check out The Newsroom. Even if you don't like politics, it has Emily Mortimer and Olivia Munn, among others.

Essentially it's the story of the backstory behind the evening news. But also a really critical look at policy and politics on the national scene. Foreigners might be turned off because of it's USA basis, but the female lead is English and they've got Dev Patel as well, a coincidence that is played upon in season two with Mortimer apologizing for colonialism (lol!).

Anyway, that's the newest television series I've watched, because I download my television instead of watching on the boob tube.
