I can't speak for any of the banners involving silence or what have you.
But the one with Tubgirl was truly revolting and whoever put it up there is wildly irresponsible for doing so. To be honest, i think it was fairly late at night, but at the same time, what if some young kid was up playing late?! that's a disturbing image to even me and i can't imagine what a kid might do if they saw it, puke, die, explode, who knows. certainly they'd be sworn off girls....
Anywho, that picture is so disugsting and Chewie, i shouldn't have to 'deal with it' as you so delicately put it. I do not come and play this game here with people who entertain me so that i can see revolting crap like that. If i want to see dirty revolting porn there are plenty of other places on the internet for that but Bushtarion does not need to be one of them. I'm no prude as you well know, but by God i don't want to see tubgirl or anything like it when i login to bushtarion and see how the alliances are doing.... There are rules governing what can and cannot be 'said'/posted in IRC and I think any SENSIBLE person playing this game would realize that putting tubgirl up really isn't funny and that it contravenes the spirit, if not quite the direct letter of the rules of the game.

Well if I see anything remotely like tubgirl as an alliance pic I'll remove the alliance's HQ buildings down to 0 (without the ability to re-develop them), so the alliance will be crippled (ETA 3 view etc. etc.). I'll accept Welshie's explanation once - if it happens again then it's just an excuse used to get around doing something very bad.
If RedTube (or any other alliance) puts up a graphic picture again, I urge people to both save a screenshot of the page, and a link to the image itself, and send me the details (link to your screenshot and actual link to the image they used) in a forum PM here and I'll deal with it.

tbh...i think azzer should be banned from this forum...because of this thread (and the discussion in it) i went and looked on google images for "tubgirl" to see what all the fuss was about...oh god...not a fun image...

aye...i seen that bushmeat ally pic. and i didnt think it warranted a deletion. there's been other other pics like it before (maybe not so provocative) but i didnt see a huge outcry over that like this tubgirl.
bring that one back. it was really, really good
if folks can't handle the pics then disallow the function altogether. dont be selective about what is admissible and what is not.

am i getting confused. but lke at 4am or something i believe redtube allaince had a banner of gay porn just the other day. it was gay sex plain and simple. nothing against it . not my preference, but surely not acceptable. now im not fussed. so there must have been more than one instance.

again if you read afew posts back it was explained.
our banner was attached to twigley's photbucket thus he was changing the pick and keeping the same URL which in turned changed the alliance pic. it wasnt our alli which was changing it.
on a side note, twigley is no longer with us.

I also wanted to explain something people aren't posting about. If something is damaging to the health of the game, it's fair to take it down. Even if people are getting offended too easily, that is sometimes not the point.
Yeah, I don't really agree with Pest's being taken down. But, some people might not know it was a joke, and that you were ok with it. So, they may be bothered. And, monkey see, monkey do. If they think those were abusive jokes, they may think those are the rules, and make joke banners that are not so funny or consentual. I'm not saying that was grounds to take them down, just illustrating the other side. Also, a player's options are to either enable or disable the banners entirely, not be selective. People will be clicking on public ally's to check their IDs, so it's not like they're hoping to see the banner.Silence said:
