my old laptop broke a while ago and i recently got a new one. i was wondering if it is worth it or even possible to take some of the hardware out of my old one and add it to my new one.

Why would you do that/what hardware do you want to remove & add on your new laptop?

It is possible for you to remove the RAM sticks from your old laptop, and add them to the new one (depending on the maximum amount of RAM in your new laptop).

Its unlikely much else is salvageable :(

If you don't know too much about computers you DEFINITELY shouldn't try screwing with your laptop. Just format & sell it? :p
