Ohh come on people this is getting really BORING!
Cant you people do that little bit of research that you wouldnt stop buying at 300 acres like on r7...
Its new age and there has not been steps on acre costs for ages... acres are cheap as hell.
For average alliance player pain limit to buy acres is around 1.6k
For solos around 1.2-.3...
How hard can that be?
Its not that big maths and all...
People stops buying at 300 acres and wonder why nothing happens on start of round and why top 5 insanely active persons runs away...
AARGH!
Stop making attacks!!
Buy acres!! You get those 100% sure and all you got to do is to maintain those acres for few hours and you got back what you invested...
Instead of buying craploads of gardeners and making attacks where only 1 of 4 lands and you get 30 acres...
FFS!

On a more serious note that's true .. some rush to start attacking too early probably temptation for free acres it's too big

Those are not free acres... You pay for those insane amounts by bying gardeners, wheelers and not being even sure you will land.

I'd have to agree I really don't understand why people start attacking so eirly in the round, sure you get the occasional 20 acres give or take a few. but if you would have spent the money that you spent on the Gards/Wheelies you could have got more land than if you stole, i mean sure you keep the men and can steal again but iirc its not (calculated out) worth it until you have about 1.3k land or so?

1.3k u whimps, 3k land u can get on the reduced-value of land these days. as long as u buy it in a big chunk

but stealing early has benifits too

- is good for morale
- more fun
- brings in competition (how much did you stole)
- the enemy has to buy loads of basics
- they get frustrated for losing land

all valuable reasons why you should start stealing early.

i always begun between 200-500 just out of boredom

Say you are in an inactive ally and buy to 1.5k acres. You lose about half of it when you go to bed, whereas if you buy gardeners, you won't lose them at this stage in the round. When you steal land and lose it again, you actually haven't lost any real cash.
And as atsanjose said: Not stealing = boring...

i by default dont normally start attacking til i have haxxors buy buy buy the lands i think for about 32 bill funds i can buy to have more land than rank 1..

Why do I attack within the first few hours? (Well actually it's the first time I haven't started a few days into the round).

Very simple, I play on and off. Therefore whilst I'm offline I build up seeds. I need to buy more gardies than the constant onliners because otherwise I just have a mountain of seeds, or I sell them cheap which would chafe my sensitivities a bit as they can be worth so much more. That means that when I go offline again I have a relatively large number of gardies who can sit around picking their noses or attack. With my numbers, at my score range, I get 100% success rate for the first two days!

If you wanna win, sure stay online and buy sensible.

If you want to have fun and know you're not active enough to get to the top. Why would you count the beans at any stage???

I bought up to 1,000 land this round, and it was damned painful.... Previously i'd never bought over 500, and before that, i bought 295, and that was it.

I always start attacking pretty early, usually around 8-12 hour after round start... Why?

Because it's more fun. I have the spare gards from growing lots of seed... Oh... and it's more fun.

i buy upto about 1500, then aim to build gards and geos.

then when that period of not having spies and losing lots of units on attacks happens

i buy land again upto 2300

once spies are done attacking all the way

Most people do attack too early. I buy to 600-700 before even starting to attack, though most people call that late. That's when the cost of gards is not as high in proportion to acres to where it's justified. You get seeds off acres the tick after you buy em. Gards, you get land in 8 ticks at best, and you get blocked so easily when people are growing so fast.

I keep buying acres to 1300 while I attack, sometimes 15-1600 if I'm not landing.

Remember, Azz patched the game so buying acres is more economical as well

i normally keep buying to 1.5k land...but ill start attacking from 600-800 acres, sending out constant attacks while there arent any LET but still buying chunks of cash when i can...

started late this round so just bought up to like 1.5k land and then waited around to start attacking...flak wars were basically over anyway so wasnt as risk free as normal

i normally start attacking earlier every round, round start is my favourite part of the round...everybody on, working hard...random attacks...not knowing the outcome, whether you'll land, whether he'll get defence...whether you are hitting someone who has just finished HTs and is about to ass rape your flak...i like not knowing whats going to happen...attacks (especially later on) where you know 100% that your going to land are just boring...take some risks! especially now we have an (borderline insane) injury system...

i bought this round about 2.8k b4 stealing. its dirt cheak i was shocked to see when i had 1.8k i could by another 1k for only 80 odd billion. now that is cheap for over a 50% increase in acres.

another 1k acres is now about 160bill. and now im thinking well there are bigger targets around me. i can attack 4 people 30%gov value with 70billion flack and some wheels/geos thats enough to get past any bot at my range. 17.5mill flack to each. its clearly possible to get 100-150 acres per attack each attack takes 3hours to go land and comeback at that range. so probably only squeeze 3 in in the day coming on when i cba. its not a hard concept. infact its not a hard game i agree with bw. though i dont know who hes telling to stop whining lol
